On course for the future with NBank

When I look at our construction project in Harsefeld today, it truly feels like a circumnavigation of the globe with a few rough weather patches. But persevering has paid off.

I lead Querin GmbH in the second generation – a company that ensures commercial shipping navigates safely across the world's oceans. With around 42 employees, we manage everything related to navigation, communication, and automation – from the bridge to the engine room. To secure the future of our company, I wanted to merge our locations in Dollern and Jork and build a new, modern company headquarters in Harsefeld.

What sounds simple was an enormous challenge. The original financing was suddenly no longer secured due to the cancellation of a funding program, and the project was initially put on hold. It was only through the program 'Niedersachsen Invest EFRE' by the NBank that a new perspective opened up. The grant, amounting to around 20 percent of the construction sum, made the decisive difference. Without this support, the groundbreaking would likely never have happened.

The path to getting there was demanding. Every week, 10 to 15 hours were additionally spent on preparation. Fortunately, with an experienced subsidy consultant, I had a strong partner by my side who developed the concept and guided me through the complex process.

In June 2024, the NBank approved the early start of the measure, and shortly thereafter, the approval notice arrived – a milestone for us. Now, a modern company headquarters is being built in Harsefeld, which secures existing jobs, creates new ones, and makes our work more efficient and sustainable.

I am grateful for the NBank's support. It has not only backed us financially but also shown that commitment and perseverance have a future in Lower Saxony.
